Lana Del Rey is a popular American singer, songwriter, and record producer who recently launched her seventh studio album, "Chemtrails Over the Country Club." To support the launch of her album, Lana Del Rey required an interactive e-commerce website to allow her fans to purchase her album and merchandise while exploring a 3D experience.
The primary goal of the website was to provide an easy and interactive platform for fans to purchase "Chemtrails Over the Country Club" album. The website should have a user-friendly interface, responsive design, and secure payment options. Additionally, the website should have a visually appealing design that aligns with the overall style of the album. This would create a pop-up style experience that fans could experience from anywhere.
The website's design was inspired by the album's artwork, which features a vintage aesthetic with a touch of modernism. We adhered to the color scheme, fonts and overall brand direction of the album artwork for the website. Which uses a combination of pastel colors and earthy tones.
One of the goals was to make the experience feel like a 3D world without incorporating WebGL. To achieve this goal we had 3D environments designed and animated to create looping background videos. Using that along with animated transitions between each environment created a seamless, easy to navigate experience.
Few developed the website using a custom backend framework, while integrating Shopify API for the inventory and checkout process. The website was also developed with a responsive design to ensure that it is accessible across all devices, including desktops, laptops, tablets, and smartphones.
To make the website more interactive, the team incorporated several features, including a music player that allows fans to listen to the album's tracks before making a purchase. Additionally, the website features a merchandise "shops" where fans can purchase t-shirts, posters, and other memorabilia related to the album.
The website was launched before the album's official release and received positive feedback from fans. The website's interactive design and easy-to-use platform made it easy for fans to purchase the album and other merchandise.
