Akadian Naming and RebrandBranding the Future of Online Accounting Education
Founder and entreprenuer Margie Remmers-Davis approached Few with an identity crisis. Over the course of several years, she had built a substantial online business helping new and existing bookkeepers learn the ins and outs of popular accounting software. As she expanded her business and layered on additional courses and material, new names and visual identities were added to the mix, and in late 2024, she decided it was time to consolidate to one cohesive brand. To give Margie and her team the platform they needed for continued, sustainable growth, Few did it all - naming, visual brand identity, and website redesign and development.
Naming
Our challenge: Find a name for the new parent brand of a set of virtual education products that include online certification prep, virtual internships, business-ownership courses, and job marketplace products for professional services with a focus on bookkeeping and accounting.
After careful consideration, the team chose the name Akadian. Selected for its allusion to the Akkadian Empire, an ancient civilization in the region of Mesopotamia, considered by some to be the origin of the practice of bookkeeping, the name resonated with the client and the target audience for both its strong phonetic sound and its call back to the world of accounting, while still remaining applicable to other professional services.
Brand Identity
With the name selected, we turned our attention to the visual identity, starting with sketches.
And ending with the full color visual brand identity.
Website Design and Development
The client’s previous web presence suffered under the weight of the incoherent brands and an outdated CMS. Our team designed a site worthy of the investment in the new brand identity.
We also developed the site on a new custom Wordpress CMS, allowing the client to easily make content updates without breaking the design.
